This program is intended as a demo and/or laboratory tool to help students visualize the statistical nature of the liquid-gas transition.

The simulation can be performed two ways: for computers with limited computational resources (either memory or cpu speed) a simplified Ising magnet can be modeled; for computers with more 'horsepower,' simulations using real gas Lennard Jones parameters can be modeled. Both simulations are presently limited to 2-dimensional, single component systems.

Both methods employ a Metropolis Monte Carlo procedure to test the configuration space for a box containing the particles. In addition, a periodic boundary condition is used to allow the 'ensemble' average notion to be used to allow the simulation to represent macroscopic samples.
