Introduction
ShotStat is a program designed to help shooters and hand loaders evaluate their shooting or load performance. ShotStat is used to compute the following shot group statistics:

horizontal average distance from point of aim, standard deviation and range
vertical average distance from point of aim, standard deviation and range
absolute (r) average distance from point of aim, standard deviation and range
center-to-center distance and minute of angle (MOA)

In addition, ShotStat can be used to compute statistics for any measured quantity (case weight, bullet weight, powder charge weight thrown by a volumetric measure, etc). By using a laptop, targets can be measured or scored directly at the range.

Targets can be hand measured and measurements entered from the keyboard, but the most convenient method of data entry uses a mouse. A mouse can be used to enter data into ShotStat by:

taping the target to the computer screen
importing the image from a digital photograph
importing the image from a digital scanner

This tutorial covers the basics of entering data with a mouse. For a more detailed discussion of how shot group statistics can be used to analyze load performance, please see "Using Statistics" in Help.
