Data Entry by Mouse
The easiest, most convenient way to use ShotStat is to enter the shot data with a mouse. This has to be done by a certain procedure, however. The next few pages of this tutorial cover the graphical data entry.

To use graphical data entry, you need an image of the target on the computer screen. This image may be in a file of .jpg, .gif or .bmp format as obtained from a digital camera or scanner. Alternately, you can simply tape the target directly to the computer screen, but you must ensure that the target does not move once data entry begins. This method is particularly handy at the range.

NOTE: Regardless of which method you use, you will need something of KNOWN LENGTH on the target. This may be an aiming square (or circle) of known size or marks you place on the target.
